Time to help our soldiers

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/obama-heads-to-texas-to-mark-2-years-since-us-combat-role-in-iraq-ended/2012/08/31/816468ca-f342-11e1-b74c-84ed55e0300b_story.html

After 2 years since the end of  US combat in Iraq. President Obama made a vow to help our soldiers, veterans and their families with their economic and health struggles.  I do believe that when troops come back to the US, they do face other challenges because of the economy.  I think its harder for them to find jobs and they don't receive as much help as they should.  When they should be getting all the help possible.  Our soldiers should be able to come back and not worry or be concerned about whether they will be able to find a job or receive help.  They have put their life and health in danger for us.  The correct way to thank them for their patriotism and for everything they have done for us is by helping them now that they are back home.  Some come back hurt not only physically but mentally.  I understand that because of the problem our country faces with the economy this is not easy, but our soldiers health and benefits should seriously be taken in consideration.  What shocks me a little about this article is it states " Mitt Romney leads Obama, 55 percent to 38 percent among veterans". I dont believe Mitt Romney has said much about our troops or even thanked them.  So how is it that Romney leads Obama?

Do you agree with the help President Obama vowed to give the soldiers?
How else could our country help our soldiers, veterans and their families?

  1. Well i believe what your saying is correct about weather our soldiers should receive jobs and with there health. I've just started watching and getting into the talk about weather Obama is right for the country or Romney, and i believe im very open minded to hear why ROmney should be chosen but like you said I've never once heard him speak of helping the soldiers. He's always speaking on building things. So I'm also clueless like you are about how Romney is winning. but to be honest i believe and also my father believe that Romney is good with his lies, but everyone has their option. I do agree that Obama is sticking to his vow to give the soldiers the help they need, but he cant do all the hard work on his own, if people arent there to help him out, and back him up. that leads into your next question of how could our country help, and i believe the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" helps me better tell you that it takes a community and a group of committed people to make things right. So the only way we can help our soldiers out is working together as a country and community to brainstorm ideas like doing a food drive for some soldiers families for holidays, opening a charity for the families, and raising money over the years to help there needs, and if we all work together as one then there can be so many more great ideas given.
