"In the end, the American dream is not a sprint, or even a marathon, but a relay." Hearing Julian Castro say those words expanded my mindset. My mindset of who cares about my future and who's working hard to ensure I have one, a very bright one. His whole speech made me a lot more grateful for the resources I have for me to reach my dreams. To answer the question, How will the ideas and policies of the Democratic Party impact the lives of Americans in the next for years? The simple fact that Obama understands what Mitt Romney fails to grasp. Republicans fail to see that this budget cutting of public education, Medicare, transportation and job training is one of the things that will disrupt years of generations' hard work. The key for our nation to be successful and prosper for the next four years, is Barack Obama. How? Because he cares. Obama is moving forward and being wise. Grasping what all people, young & old need, regardless of sex or race, needs. He's not cutting the funds for public education and he's making college more affordable. He's bringing jobs back home from overseas creating 4.5 million new jobs. Obama is promoting global prosperity and development, strengtheningthis nation and its communities, protecting rights, freedoms, and well being of every citizen and building an economy that's fit to last. "If we all just go our own way, our nation will be stronger for it. Because if we sever the threads that connect us, the only people who will go far are those who are already ahead. We all understand that freedom isn’t free. What Romney and Ryan don’t understand is that neither is opportunity. We have to invest in it."How are we supposed to be "one nation under God" and in unity if everybody goes off and does their own thing? We need to work together and every citizens needs to take part and do their fair share. And that's part of what Obama is about.
