When I was shifting through the news earlier today, I found a flood of articles about what I consider the most heartfelt, sincere, and amazing speeches I've heard in a long time: Michelle Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention. It was simply beautiful.

A lot of speeches lack sincerity for one simple reason: the person giving it has never had to suffer a day in their life. How could they possibly know anything about typical American people when they're living the wealthy life? Exactly, they can't. But Mrs. Obama has been there. She lived the life of a low-income American, unlike a lot of politicians. At one point, her husband Barack Obama's "decent" shoes were a half size too small, and his favorite coffee table had been pulled out of the trash. So Michelle knows what life is like for a lot of people. She can relate to a lot of people. And since the main question I'm answering in this post relates to how the Democratic Party can impact Americans' lives in the next four years, she is very ideal for this.

We need people in office who can relate to everyday people. Not some rich snobs who pretend to know how we (everyday Americans) feel. In my opinion, you can't possibly know what it's like to suffer unless you actually suffered. You can imagine all you want, but it's just not the same. And if we want to improve at all in this country, we need leaders who know about us. Like Obama. He may have not been able to stick to a lot of his promises, but remember, there is only so much a president can do. They are not a dictator, so they can't do whatever they want to do. The reason they say they're going to do this and that is just to get more votes from people. If you think about it for a moment, it does make sense. So please, don't be so hard on Obama.

In my opinion, Obama is much more fit to be President than Romney. He knows people, and so does his wife. Romney doesn't. He's one of those people who pretends. He grew up in a world of "Privilege and wealth". And that's not good.

I really liked Julian Castro's speech as well. His and Mrs. Obama's both emphasize this: The American Dream is not about having money. It's about building a better future, not just for you but for future generations. It's about making the world a better place for everyone, helping others. That's what this country was built off of, and that's how it should stay. I strongly believe this is the only way to improve life for future generations. But my question is, what do you think of the First Lady's speech?

Once again Mrs. Obama, you did a wonderful job and it was a true blessing to hear your speech.

  1. I like what you wrote. You should take a look at my blog as well. My blog connects to yours only about Michelle's speech. Her speech was very inspirational because why? She said the truth! She said what was needed to be said and done! People have to understand that when you're true about something with a lively attitude, people will follow your footsteps.
