President Obama: A Disappointment???

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/31/us/politics/romney-vows-to-deliver-country-from-economic-travails.html?_r=1&ref=politics

It is obvious that during election the people running will talk and say many things about their opponents but some of the things that Romney said about Obama was really disappointing.

I never got into politics until I hear that things start to get serious. I thought that it would be a big change for president Obama to take over the house and show his capability of serving the country. Throughout the years of his presidency I have seen many news reports and read many articles that said President Obama was lying about his identity and he is not a real American citizen. I was a little young back then and did not understand all the rules and procedures for becoming a president. One thing that my comes in my mind when I think of this topic now is that the citizens of the United States didn't think about what race, gender and/or where President Obama came from rather they believed in his ideas and what he wanted to do for the country. if he won not everyone was doing something Wrong. I mean he didn't pay the public to vote for him.

president Obama did do a great job by bringing an end to Osama Bin laden but according to Romney, the president was not able to react to the nuclear bomb threats form Iran. He also stated that Obama was not successful in bringing change to the economy either.

I may be rolling off topic here but I believe that even legal immigrants should be given a chance to run as president because they can also bring in new ideas that can help our country. I am not saying to bring a forty year old engineer of computers but a sensible person who has good views in the political field. What do you guys believe? Will it work if someone new can come to lead our country or will it be a major disaster?

  1. Well as far as Obama, I think that he is not much different than other presidents in a way. He may be a disappointment, but most politicians say they're going to do this and that just to get people to vote for them. That's not his fault. Yes I know he couldn't stick to his promises, but there's only so much one man can do? I highly doubt that Romney, even though the part of his speech that I saw was really good, can do much more than any other politician. He won't bring along any major changes. If he does, I would be shocked, and happy at the same time. However, I wouldn't put too much faith in anyone because you never know what could happen.

Legal immigrants should be allowed to run for president as long as they have decent political education (If you know what I mean). I don't care if they're born here or not. Doesn't mean much, in my opinion. If someone is fit for the job, then their immigration to America shouldn't matter. It would spark some controversy though, in fact a lot. Unfortunately.

    1. @malik Harris I agree with you. I've noticed tht promise making by presidential candidates has been around for pretty long. We all remember the Lincoln-Douglas debates for senate of Illinois, this alike to the present campaigns were events where the candidates use sweet words tht the country or state wants to hear to get a hold of them. I knw that it might seem rude or disappointing but we must face it, the majority of the promises made are never seen or fulfilled. Promises to get votes. This is why some of the promises made to us seem too good to be true, because they are. So we can not really believe everything all presidential candidates state they will do; Romney might criticize Obama but how are we sure he will fulfill everything he is saying he will do? Concluding, I just want to say that I like how you think and I agree with you.
