Novembers Top Five

For years I thought that people only voted for what president they thought should be next in line, Never for anything other than that . Not only are we choosing a  president and members of congress voters in several states will vote on high profile social issues such as Same Sex Marriage , Abolishing The death Penalty , Physician- Assisted  Suicide , Undermine Obama care , and lastly Legalizing Marijuana .   November 6 these votes will be cast . Of course these issues aren't being voted for in all the states but in several states.

Ex:

Same Sex Marriage Voting : Being held in Washington , Maryland, and Maine. The state lawmakers in Washington and Maryland passed legislation this year to stamp that Same Sex Marriage is allowed . This is on hold until the public gets a chance to vote in November , Some say "In every state where same-sex marriage has been put to a popular vote before, it's been defeated" , But supporters are hoping for this year to be different.

Abolishing The Death Penalty Voting : Being held in California , People opposing it say "it's costing the state too much".   But the proposition say that they want toreplace it with a maximum penalty of life without parole, and direct $100 million a year to other law enforcement priorities" . With two strong arguments I wonder how the the votes on this issues are going to go.

If you had the chance to vote on any one of these issues which one would you vote for and why?

  1. I would vote for the death penalty to be abolished. Like you said, the death penalty is costing the state too much. Also it is almost like the government is commiting murder. Its like the government is fighting fire with fire, something we were all taught as kids to avoid. Same sex marriage is a proposition that has a lot to do with religion. I personally am against same sex marriage because it is nasty and a sin in my religion. However, the constitution gives citizens the freedom of religion. I believe that ethically there is no wrong doing in allowing same sex marriage, but in my opinion it is something that shouldn't be encouraged.
