Friends, what's your opinion about energy sources? Do you believe Romney's ideas on future energy sources, such as oil and coal? Do you agree with Obama's plan by beginning green energy efficient sources? I was on CNN and saw a video on the clash on energy sources and this topic seemed interesting to me when I watched and listened to this issue on Tuesday night. Which one of these candidates can step up the game now move our country forward by saving this planet?
ReplyDeleteAs I was watching the debate, both candidates debated on immigration. And I begin to wonder, both Romney and Obama said that this country is full of immigrants. Then why is it so difficult sometimes for foreigners to come and live in this country? Please tell me your opinion on this topic.
I think I would go with Obama's green efficient plan. Even though I would not vote for either of them, I do think the green energy idea/plan could be a great way to help our economy by using natural elements, like solar, wind, and water power. Using this plan/idea would stop our country from using/wasting more money on coal/oil from other countries.

Shirley-Ann: I appreciate your honest take on this serious issue. Here is some specific information about how green jobs can also positively impact the economy.
DeleteAs Van Jones, an former Special Advisor for green jobs to the Obama administration, has said, "Everything good for the environment is a job. People could be put back to work by building a green economy with solar panels, wind turbines and retrofitting homes as a start."

Well, Pedro I never thought of it that way! I have not heard much on foreigners not allowed to come to this country. Do you mean that because this nation is over populated with immigrants they are not allowed in this country or is there a new policy that doesn’t allow foreigners into the country because of terrorism? I am confused on whose side to choose on this immigration topic because in one way Mitt Romney is right about giving chances to people who come here legally but on the other hand President Obama is also right in his place saying that why should we blame kids for their parents deeds. My opinion in general is that everyone deserves a chance for people who are willing to do something for this nation have the right to stay here because they can help develop a better nation with their unique ideas.
DeletePeople should just follow the rules. If they want to come here they should come legally and this way they won’t have any problems later on. I understand that everyone is looking for a better education, a better job and a better life but if they work hard they can fulfill their dreams in their own countries. People want everything to come to them. They don’t want to work hard for it. If all of these kids get well educated they can help develop their own country and maybe people will stop coming illegally.
Hmm interesting, I don't know which candidate I agree with. I like both plans, but I know whatever happens, we, as a country, need to take action. Definitely. We need to invest in solar, wind, biofuel, and any other clean sources of energy. We need to improve the efficiency of our cars, and form less wasteful driving habits like driving a block instead of walking. A lot of people have these big, gas-guzzling cars that they really don't need. Car manufactures need to step up their game and try to make their cars as efficient as possible. Otherwise we will still be burning up a lot of fossil fuels. There are so many things we could do to help the planet, but it's a matter over whether or not we do it.
ReplyDeleteAs for immigrants, I dont know where I stand. I think that it's so hard for people to immigrate because we need to be safe as a country. People can't just walk in from their country. That's very risky. So while it may be a headache for immigrants, it keeps our country safer.
Malik: I'm interseted in your response. You said you like both plans. How come? Basically, you wouldn't care who wins according to environemntal issues? But when I continued to read your response, you seem to like more Obama's plan to go green! It's true, I think even some opponents would agree to change our environment to create and change this planet into a better, safer, and cleaner place.
DeleteDo candidates tell the full truth in debates or do they lie? In a fact check during the second presidential debate on, http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/debates/presidential/2012-10-16?hp, when Romney responded o a gun control question by stating, “We, of course, don’t want to have automatic weapons, and that’s already illegal in this country to have automatic weapons.” He was absolutely wrong on this statement as it says in the fact check.
ReplyDeleteI found the debate very interesting; as we saw. Obama came back a little stronger. I thought the questions were great, because they brought out a lot of information and important points. I really liked the first question by the college student, because it was a topic that really interested me, and I wanted to know what each candidate would do to insure that we will have jobs waiting for students that graduate from college.Did you all like Obama's or Romney's plan to insure that we have jobs after college??

Good connection between the topic of the first question and the person who asked it: a college student. Here is an article that goes deeper into that first question of the night. This article also asks a bigger question: Why didn't the candidates discuss our nation's growing student loan debt?
