I chose this article because it touched bases on my favorite part of the 2nd debate. This article is based off of this one question, "In what ways do you plan to rectify inequalities in the work place for women's pay?" I was confused when Romney answered this question because it seemed as if he tried to avoid the question and turn the question into providing jobs for women. In fact, research shows that Romney feels that "equal pay are "small thing" that are no important voters.
Here an article that proves that statement:

This proves that Romney doesn't really care about women's rights. Honestly, while watching the debate and what Romney had to say when answering questions, I felt like he was just feeding us what we wanted to here. I might be a little BIAS, maybe a lot, but if you watched what he said during the debate and what he said previously during his campaign, you would understand what I am saying.
For example, Romney claims that he wants to lower taxes for mostly middle class and that he wants to get the middle class in better condition, (correct me if I am wrong) but, on 60 Minutes, he said that it was fair for a person who is very wealthy to pay less taxes than a bus driver, etc (Someone of a lower income). He should consider changing that statement around. That way, middle class would have to worry less about bills, etc. They can take that cut tax money and use it to put food in the house, or the phone bill. Make Sense??
Please take a look at this site! I actually this you guys would find it interesting, trust me!

What do you think about women's rights and equal pay? What do you think about this new website about Mitt Romney's binders full of women?
I think that women's rights and equal pay are great ideas that should not be regraded as "small things". I also think that the Binders Full of Women website is a great way to really see the contradiction in Romney's campaign.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Manny because Womens rights cannot be thought of as a "small thing", especially in a campaign. I'm not trying to say that this race is all about votes, but more than half of AMerica's population is female. Romney is basically saying that half the country is a "small thing" to him. With this attitude towards womens rights he doesn't have a chance of winning this election.
ReplyDeleteWonderful job Brelin! I went on the site and found many new facts that I didn't about Mitt Romney. What I am really concerned about is that if Mitt Romney is elected president, how do we know that he will keep all the promises that he is making now. If he wants equal pay for women then why didn't he answer the question completely on how he was going to make that happen instead of going on how he helped a few women get jobs in Massachusetts? Speaking of Massachusetts one thing that I have been noticing during the Presidential Debates is that he is always bringing up the how he has made changes in Massachusetts. Does he want to make our nation from United States to Massachusetts States?
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing/seeing how Romney keeps saying the wrong thing when it comes to women but can someone clarify why all we hear about is that Obama has a horrible approving rating when it comes to women voters? He even has this whole group of women that raised $250,100 to make sure he doesn't win again. Why is that?
ReplyDeleteI want to look into what Desiree is talking about cause that's a good question .To my knowledge Obama has no problem with females but i will try to figure that out and i will post something about it and to utsavi i agree with you because the website is a nice place it made me sort of aware of new things that have happened that i knew nothing about .
