I think this is a good article because it introduces what the Republicans are stating, before the democratic campaign begins and also gives specific quotes from the Democrats responding to what was said. It states that the Republicans are asking voters if we really believe that we will be better off with Obama again, than how we were four years ago with Bush. But the Democrats state that this election does not have anything to do with the past or the question. As you read you will see that the article was based on a very important topic,at least in my opinion, ECONOMY.

THE "TRUTHS" BEHIND THE CAMPAIGNS!?

I found this article interesting. I don't know if any of you heard of the website PolitiFact.com. This is a Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-checking website. The gist of the website is to check what people are stating in the political world are accurate and whether what they are telling us are lies. The trending topic of the site is the presidential candidates and what they are saying in their campaigns.
What stood out the most to me in this article was the third paragraph were it states that "people started talking about the sluggish economy and how Mr. Obama's campaign promises had fallen short."
After reading this sentence, I thought about all the economy and what the people are saying. But, what people have to understand is that things don't change in a blink of an eye. Obama was put into office at a bad time in the economy and you have to give him time to help better things. You can't jump to conclusion and say he has fallen short with his promises. It took Bush two terms to not destroy, but weaken our economy. You can't just expect thinks to turn around that fast. Obama has only been president for less than 4 years. Give Him Some Time!

REPEALING "OBAMACARE!?"

Obama's Health Care Law plays a big roll in the political campaigns. I reread this article twice to understand that Mitt Romney and Paul D. Ryan are really trying to get rid of the existence of this new health law. I understand what the republicans are stressing about. It would save the states and federal government over $400 billion but, they are acting like the money is going into total waste. It is actually going towards something good.
I tried to look at both sides of the argument but, clearly, I would be by Obama's side when it comes to Medicaid. What the republicans have to understand is that, not everybody are in the same healthy and wealthy conditions. What they need to do is put their feet in others' shoes and see how greatly this health care law is helping. There are those who were laid off and not everybody is living the fancy life. I feel that the republicans are being selfish and aren't thinking about our world. We are supposed to be a democracy and if so, we already know that majority of the citizens of the U.S. are for "Obamacare." So, why do you republicans decides to go against the grain.
I had some personal thoughts about how this Health Care Law can greatly help us. People are in sticky situations and conditions. There are those who are injured and unable to work. But, this law can help get people back on their feet if this is one less bill they have to worry about. This could hopefully allow people to work if they are treated for any illnesses or wounds. Overtime, many won't have to rely on this Law. and maybe, sometime in the future, this law can be repealed. This was something I thought about.

End Obama's Health Care Law?

Something in this article that caught my attention the most is how the republicans want to get rid of President Obama's health care law. I don't understand what benefits they would get from getting rid of President Obama's health care law. What would happen with the 7 million young people that would be kicked off there parents plan and with the 10's of millions of Americans with pre-existing condition? Do they have some sort of plan for all of these people? What would the Republicans get out of ending President Obama's accomplishment with health care.

Time to help our soldiers

After 2 years since the end of US combat in Iraq. President Obama made a vow to help our soldiers, veterans and their families with their economic and health struggles. I do believe that when troops come back to the US, they do face other challenges because of the economy. I think its harder for them to find jobs and they don't receive as much help as they should. When they should be getting all the help possible. Our soldiers should be able to come back and not worry or be concerned about whether they will be able to find a job or receive help. They have put their life and health in danger for us. The correct way to thank them for their patriotism and for everything they have done for us is by helping them now that they are back home. Some come back hurt not only physically but mentally. I understand that because of the problem our country faces with the economy this is not easy, but our soldiers health and benefits should seriously be taken in consideration. What shocks me a little about this article is it states " Mitt Romney leads Obama, 55 percent to 38 percent among veterans". I dont believe Mitt Romney has said much about our troops or even thanked them. So how is it that Romney leads Obama?

Fact checkers get FACT CHECKED!
I found this interesting article that related to something I had discussed before. Fact Checkers. What or who is it?
Anyways, I had a discussion about Paul Ryan's speech a couple days ago with Niorgie and Ms. Blatteau and we found an article where Paul Ryan's speech was fact checked. Here's an example. Quoting Ryan's speech.

Pretty much saying that it's Obama fault and that he lied about the plant staying in production. The plant closed December of 2008, a month before Obama took office. Which means that it's not Obama's fault.
After we reviewed the article, it got us thinking and it definitely raised a few questions. How many Americans, as Niorgie would say, would stand on the sidelines and actual do some research? How would this effect the polls? Anyways, I did some browsing of the web, Google-ing fact checker, I came across this interesting article, Fact-Checking the Fact checkers on Ryan's speech.

In that article I found out that the GM plant was actual being notified of pending closure in December of 2008 and was finally shut down in 2009, meaning that at the time, Obama was president and it was indeed his fault. So it was a game of back and forth on that claim but who knows how many other facts need to be checked.
