For extra credit on your homework grade, respond to the article below.  Add your opinion and/or key takeaways.  I love how this article merges our study of public opinion back in the fall with our current study of the Supreme Court.  Government and politics in action!

  1. Lately I've been thinking about how people of different ages see gay marriage.

If you're against gay marriage your probably
    -religious
    -older than 40
    -conservative

If you're not against gay marriage your probably
    -not very religious
    -younger than 40
    -liberal

While these don't apply to everyone obviously, this article further solidifies my point that the older you are the more likely your against gay marriage.

  2. Excellent framing Manny. While you're right, this doesn't apply to everyone, public opinion often uses age, religion and political ideology to measure where people stand on issues. We should always think about which types of Americans are most willing to vote on/petition/care about the variety of hot-button issues that exist in American politics today.
